Frequently Asked Questions
  • Should I choose PeeWee or Kid Pitch?: PeeWee is for younger players who will be playing tee ball, coach pitch, or modified kid pitch. Kid Pitch is for levels 8U through 14U. Only Kid Pitch players need to try out in October.
  • Do returning players need to try out?: Yes, returning Kid Pitch players should try out. Players who played PeeWee in 2026 but want to move up to Kid Pitch in 2027 should also try out.
  • Which registration should I choose?: If your player knows they will want to play for LJBA, choose BASEBALL SEASON REGISTRATION to register for the spring season with $15 due to sign up for tryouts. The payment plan for the rest of the registration fee will begin in January. This signs up for tryouts AND the season. If a player only wants to try out and not commit yet to playing for LJBA in spring, choose KID PITCH TRYOUTS ONLY.
  • Why choose TRYOUTS ONLY?: A player can choose to sign up for tryouts only, which allows them to try out with LJBA but does not register them for the spring season for a $15 nonrefundable fee. If the player later chooses to play for LJBA in spring, they will have to register separately. You will receive a $15 coupon code with your tryout sign-up to apply your tryout fee toward your eventual registration.
  • What time is my child's tryout?: Timing will be emailed to registered participants. Players should attend tryouts during the time period for the age group they anticipate playing at next spring. (If the player is playing fall ball, it would likely be the level they're playing at in fall.) For example, if player is currently 9 years old but will turn 10 before the May 1 cutoff, they should try out with the 10U age group.
  • Are there tryouts for PeeWee?: October's tryouts are for Kid Pitch players only. PeeWee Placement Day will be held in spring.
  • Why should I register now for PeeWee?: Although PeeWee players do not need to try out, families can register now to take advantage of the early registration discount.
  • When is the full registration fee due?: Kid pitch players who register now for spring owe a $15 tryout fee on the day of registration. The remainder of the $375 spring registration fee will be split into four monthly payments beginning January 8. PeeWee players can also choose a payment plan which will begin in January.
